Error Deleting File or Folder

While deleting unwanted Temporary Internet Files from a computer, I encounter an error: "Cannot delete NilParsedXMLElement: The file name you specified is not valid or too long. Specify a different file name."

That doesn't look like an invalid or long file or folder name. Is it possible to create a file or folder name longer than can be deleted? Is it possible to create a file or folder with an invalid name?

Since it says to specify a different name, I try renaming the folder. I get an error: "Cannot rename NilParsedXMLElement. The filename or extension is too long."

I thought Windows XP supported file and folder names larger than 19 characters.

So, what should one do with a temporary folder that cannot be renamed or deleted?

Cannot delete file?

I tell PowerPoint to open a file and it displays an error dialog stating that it cannot delete a file. What!?

Why is PowerPoint trying to delete a file? I told it to open a file. I clicked OK and my file opened.  I have no idea what it was trying to delete.

You cannot run the program because you are not an administrator.

I did not manually start a program. This started at login.

It appears this belongs to the advanced power management that helps extend battery life.

If only administrators can use this feature, I find this to be a failure.

Windows cannot find '(null)'

I did not type any name. I'm waiting for Firefox to install an update.

Is null required to update Firefox?  If null is nothing, then why should Windows expect to find it?  Or maybe '(null)' isn't really null, but something like null. ;-)

Price Check

Tweeted by ersonline.

Internet Explorer on the price check scanner reports that the server can't be found. I'd expect a better customized error page for an embedded device like this. Perhaps it was assumed that the scanner would always have a good connection to the server.

I bet the cash registers will have no trouble getting the price.  Or is everything free while the server can't be reached.

Scan the barcode to find the price!

“500 internal server error when trying to scan my subcard at warehouse stationary price checker. Lol.” - @nate_dunn

Might this machine return an HTTP 500 error anytime a scanned code is not in the system? Let's bring in some bar codes and test it out. ;)

Adapter type cannot be determined

Nothing is wrong with my AC power adapter. And the message went away. Although the tester in me wants to experiment to find out what triggers this message. ;-)

Cancellation not allowed

Switching to another program doesn't make the dialog go away or unfreeze the program hampered by whatever is busy. And when Retry does not work, there is no way to cancel.

versionPlease

An internal error occurred on your web site and I should upgrade my IE version and contact my administrator? I don't think so.
