Ultimate

How long should I wait for the error go away?

Go ahead, tell the user how to configure error reporting on the web server. This is useful. ;)

That's all I got, so I'm not telling.

@PAGalloway: What kind of error message is this? (from XtraNormal.com )

Not very helpful, but perhaps an honest admission that whatever code failed didn't get any details on the error from another component.

Price Check

Tweeted by ersonline.

Internet Explorer on the price check scanner reports that the server can't be found. I'd expect a better customized error page for an embedded device like this. Perhaps it was assumed that the scanner would always have a good connection to the server.

I bet the cash registers will have no trouble getting the price.  Or is everything free while the server can't be reached.

Who programmed the bad response?

  • Who programmed the bad response?
  • I don't think the server is intelligent enough to throw up a message that it is not programmed to?
  • OK, so is it the client that recognizes it as bad response?
  • Are there some good responses that the server throws?
  • Why aren't we informed about it?
  • Bad for whom?

Problematic Pizza Promotions

Home sick and no food in the house. Not wanting to leave the house, KC goes online to check out the pizza offerings at Shakey's.

KC checks the current promotions.

Today's promotions don't look very tasty. KC reports "I thought to myself 'Bug!' and ordered myself a pizza anyway."
