If I have to do something, it's not automatic

What are the updates? Is it important that I interrupt what I am doing and restart now? Is there risk in waiting to restart later?

How about some information to help me make an informed decision?

Surprise! You must restart!

I finally give into Adobe Acrobat Reader's requests to install an update. Then after several minutes of installing, it tells me I must restart my computer before using the Reader. Had I known a restart was required, I would not have upgraded at this time.

The not-so-automatic automatic backup

NTI Shadow is a backup program advertised to automatically backup data to a NAS file server as files are changed.

However, it appears that the designers of the software failed to seriously consider that one may be using a mobile computer that does not always have access to the network file server. I don't think I should have to manually restart backup jobs every time I connect and disconnect from the network.

So I Married An Axe Murderer

I open up a web browser and go to Hulu.com in search of a movie to watch.  The Hulu home page shows an advertisement for the movie So I Married An Axe Murderer.  I click the watch now button.

The Hulu page for the movie opens, then it shows me two commercials. Then I get this: Sorry the video is currently unavailable. ...

If the video is not available, why is it still being promoted on the Hulu front page?

This message gives conflicting information. Is the video unavailable or do I have a possible browser issue?

The video starts to play after my third refresh.  I click the button to view the movie player in a window without the surrounding header and advertisements.  I get the above error again.

It takes a few more refresh attempts to get the movie to start.

Just like XP?

“THIS IS JUST LIKE WINDOWS XP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” - @TCG96

Just like XP? In what way? That software crashes?  That you are given an opportunity to send information to the software's creators?  Users are likely to view faults in the context of past experience with previous versions of products.

In this case, I don't think it is a positive connection being made to a previous version of Windows.

No, I do NOT want to restart my computer now

Where's the "No, I don't want to restart my computer now, but I'm being forced to restart in order to use this program." option?

Don't make me lie to the computer by telling it I want to restart. I want to use the software I just installed. I don't want to restart; I'm being forced to restart.
