Something prevented the text engine
@AllieG: - Photoshop, quit failing. Does anyone know how to deal with this error message?
I don't know what Allie was trying to do, but this doesn't seem to be a very helpful user-facing error message.

Pure virtual function call
iwFD: i have this error with Photoshop, pls help
This is a great example of an error message commercial software users should never see -- except maybe programmers coding in Visual C++. Are users of Photoshop supposed to know what pure virtual function call means? If they were to Google this error, they may come across a Microsoft knowledge base article that explains "This error occurs when your application indirectly calls a pure virtual member function in a context where a call to the function is not valid." Still not helpful for Photoshop users.
