You cannot run the program because you are not an administrator.

I did not manually start a program. This started at login.

It appears this belongs to the advanced power management that helps extend battery life.

If only administrators can use this feature, I find this to be a failure.

Is Windows 7 killing your battery?

"Good job Microsoft, you just cost me (and almost all windows 7 laptop owners) their battery!! Now what are you going to do!!?"

"Microsoft has begun an investigation into a possible problem with Windows 7 that might cause poor battery life, and even degradation of the battery itself, on certain notebooks."

"The issue seems sporadic, but fairly widespread. It is unclear whether affected systems are simply misreporting the battery life, or if the battery capacity is actually being permanently affected."

Adapter type cannot be determined

Nothing is wrong with my AC power adapter. And the message went away. Although the tester in me wants to experiment to find out what triggers this message. ;-)

100% charged batteries that can be further charged

I accidentally hovered my mouse over the battery charge status indicator on my laptop display and found a tool tip ( or whatever name you suggest for it ) that says, "Charging (100%)' 1 minutes to fully charge"

I am wondering if a battery can charge beyond 100% and also would like to make a suggestion of minute instead of minutes.

If there is more charging needed to get to 100% then it isn't 100% for sure.

I am aware that this isn't a show stopper but wondering how long would the fix for this problem take and what's the value of it?

How does your laptop indicate battery status?
