No, I do NOT want to restart my computer now

Where's the "No, I don't want to restart my computer now, but I'm being forced to restart in order to use this program." option?

Don't make me lie to the computer by telling it I want to restart. I want to use the software I just installed. I don't want to restart; I'm being forced to restart.

this... doesn't really seem like an error to me.

It bugs me, so I say it is a bug. :)

Seriously, when software requires users to to select an attitude (e.g., "I want") and not just an action, they may become frustrated.

Compare the common Windows installer prompt above to the FireFox restart prompt that shows up after installing add-ins. FireFox simply states that it must be restarted for the changes to take effect and gives the user a RESTART button they can ignore. FireFox does not force the user to select an option stating that they want to restart.

I doubt that many users want to restart. They want to use some software they just installed. Restarting is necessary, but not wanted.

Very clear that this is not a bug...
While most of the users wan't to use their newly installed software, there will still be users ho want to do other stuff before using the new software ( install other software, remove certain install files, ...).
